Hi Readers,
It's a great pleasure for us to introduce you this very nice casual dining place among the locals and back packers, Ecco Café. It is famous for serving great italian food with wide variety of pizza and pasta, and is located along the pre war shop houses.
The uniqueness of this restaurant is, it has an open kitchen and the chef's cooking in action is easily seen by the customers. Diners can enjoy viewing the chef's rolling the pizza dough and how the food is served. Another special thing about the food here, is the pizza and noodles are made from scratch upon ordering.
Let me introduce the menu, first there are a wide varieties of Pizzas. We ordered Louisiana (RM17) that has thinly slices of salami, onion, tomato, fresh chili, olives and basil . Its delicious as it has a thin crust and is crispy at the edge. You can taste the freshness of the tomato paste and the tasty salami.
Next will be the Hawaiian Pizza (RM17) with thin slices of turkey ham, olives, capsicum, onion and pineapple. This taste a bit mild but it is good.
Second is the great choice of pasta. The pasta is served with freshly grated cheese and two stick of bread. Let me present to you the most special pasta of the day that is the Truz (RM17) as it comes with Cajun spiced chicken, bananas in the cream sauce. There are tiny slices of bananas that enhances and creates a very nice taste towards the pasta. I could say it really has a unique taste in it compare to other pastas. For banana lover, you will definitely give thumbs up on this dish.
Next would be the Confetti Corleone (RM17) that has chicken with capsicum, peas, onion, olives in roasted garlic cream sauce. As for this dish you can either choose for chicken, beef pepperoni or vegetarian. The roasted huge chuck of garlic in this dish does create an unbelievable aroma.
These are a few of the chef specialty we ordered. Calzone (RM18) would be a wrapped up pizza dough baked with turkey ham, tomato, basil, capsicum, onion, tomato sauce and cheese. The dough will rise when its baked till golden brown. It taste really good and its indeed a very creative dish.
Next would be the Chicken Pot Pie (RM16) with the filling chucks of chicken, peas, carrots, and potatoes, white cream sauce baked with pie-crust cover and served together with some side salad. The cream sauce is not too creamy, good for my liking come with the nice salad.

We also ordered mushroom soup but we find the soup kind of bland thought they have nice minced mushroom in it. It could be nice if it is creamier.
The orange color pumpkin soup did not catch my attention at first but surprisingly it taste awesome. It is much richer compare to the mushroom soup and you are able to taste the boiled pumpkin sweetness.
Last but not least comes the one and only dessert left available at the shop for us. Let me present to you the Crème Brulee. The egg custard pudding topped with a layer of hard caramel. It is a bit cold when it’s been served to us. The top layer of the sugar is slightly burned as not in perfection. You are able to find some raisin and coffee inside of it. Overall we still did enjoy the last piece of dessert that each of us only manage to have few scoop as it comes in small portion.
We had the fresh brew coffee (RM5) as drinks. This is real ‘kopi o’ coffee that you are able to find it any at coffee shop.
Besides this, the café serves sandwiches, salad and fresh juices as well. All their breads are handmade and served together with their dishes. They are also famous for their brunch that serves fresh yogurt and muesli.
