Craving for a nice pizza? No idea where to head to? Lets go to El Mondo Pizza! With their tag line of "The Original Firewood Pizza in Town". All their pizzas are baked from firewood instead on any electronic oven.
El Mondo open their first restaurant at Krystal point and then follow by another one at E-Gate and Tanjung Bunga, Penang. When you walk into the restaurant, you can feel that it has a very cosy environment as it has been lighted with dim lights added with their cottage's style interior design.
It is a place that is not only serves pizza but they are famous for their pasta as well. For those who are not cheese lover, worry not, because El Mondo does serve some western dishes too.
Currently they are running various promotions, and one of it is the add on of RM3.90 to your Ala Carte to be entitle for Soup or Salad, Drinks and Dessert. I would say it's a great steal.
For the add on, we are give a choice of Ice Lemon Tea, Coffee or Tea.
The soup will be based on the Soup Of the Day. This is the Boston soup. As I'm a cream soup lover I would say it tasted nice but not to my liking.
Here comes our main dish, this is the Linguine Marinara (RM 20.90). For a classic choice will be the tomato sauce pasta. It consist of a large mussel, some clams and prawn. The freshness of the seafood is crucial for this dish.
Another choice of ours would be the Fettuccine Con Pollo, Piselli E Funghi (RM 19.90) with slices of chicken meat, green peas, mushroom and cream. Some sprinkle of parmesan cheese would be a thumbs up for this dish.
A visit to this place will not be complete if you have yet to try out their firewood pizza. So here comes the BBQ Chicken Pizza (RM 25.90), top with tomato sauce, cheese, onions, capsicums, BBQ chicken and BBQ sauce. The thin crust pizza indeed taste great with the combination of the sauces.
Lastly, we are served with the ice creams with three choice of flavors, chocolate, vanilla and strawberry that comes with the add on. There is a menu for dessert too and I heard they are famous for their Tiramisu. I shall give it a try on my next visit. More dishes to be try out as they have a very wide variety of pizza and pasta.

Linguine Marinara - I don't like them as it's too tomato-ish and watery.
i only notice there is one at crystal point, never knew there is one in e-gate.

Cariso, maybe you will prefer the carbonara. I personally like it.
